LOCATION: A-Shed, Victoria Quay, Fremantle Harbour, Western Australia
PROJECT TYPE/SERVICES: Concept Sketch Visual
CLIENT: Gage Roads Beer Co. & Finespun Architecture
The Western Australian Government wanted a transformative project to revitalize the run-down, nearly 100 year old A-shed on Victoria Quay at Fremantle Harbour.
Inspired by loose concept sketch ideas from Finespun Architecture & Gage Roads Beer Co., the vision sketch produced within a tight deadline and budget, ultimately helped Gage Roads win the project ahead of several other competing teams.
Gage Roads required the single image to capture and express their vision of a large successful, family friendly hospitality venue showcasing it’s harbourside location and maritime history.
Well recognised landmark features such as the WA Maritime Museum (behind) and tall ship (The STS Leeuwin ll) along with a local dolphin pod, cleverly wove a compelling story demonstrating the power of a hybrid traditional/digital rendering technique vs the more ubiquitous photorealism.
Technique: Modelled in SketchUp and post edited in Photoshop using a Wacom Tablet.
